In the early morning hours of September 13th, 2008, Hurricane Ike made landfall in Galveston, TX. Although Ike made landfall as a category 2 hurricane, it had the highest storm surge destructive potential recorded in the history of US hurricanes. As a result, Ike has been recorded as the third most destructive hurricane in US history.

 

Totalling over $27 Billion in damages, Ike left a path of destruction from Texas and Louisiana all the way to Canada's provinces of Ontario and Quebec. vrs VeriClaim is responsible for handling several billion dollars worth of claims related to Ike, many of which include multiple locations, business interruption as well as other complexities.

 

vrs VeriClaim's prompt response to Ike is illustrated by initial contact being made within 36 hours of assignments on over 97% of Ike-related files. At present, just one month after Ike's landfall, over 50% of the claims related to Hurricane Ike have been successfully closed.
